Camaret’s Fortification Route

Tour modèle 1er Empire du Toulinguet - Camaret-Sur-Mer

Because of its rich history, France encompasses a large number of old and imposing bastioned fortifications.

The Crozon Peninsula has the greatest part of French fortifications with around 150 to 200.
Built for costal defense, all these fortifications retrace the history of the Crozon Peninsula, from prehistory through to the present day.

Below are Camaret’s ones:

  • The Vauban’s Tower (from the 17th century)
  • The Toulinguet Tower (from 1811)
  • The Gouin Gatehouse (from 1846)
  • The Bunkers of the Kerborn Battery (from the 19th to the 20th centuries)
